Dear students and parents,
We have been rehearsing for the spring show, which will take place May 29,30 and 31 at
the Veteran Memorial Theater. Everyone, pretty much knows what they are dancing, but not when they are dancing. The whole ballet has been double casted. I have to juggle around for
some of the people who cannot dance on certain days. I will do my best.
This ballet is hilarious and very difficult, therefore, we started early. The ballet is called
La Fille Mal Gardee. The Monday-Wednesday 3:30 and 4:30 classes are in the beginning of the second Act. (small village dancers, harvest dancers, clog dancers) Some of the older dancers are in there as well. Look for the 2nd Act rehearsals.
*Memorial Day will be a large rehearsing weekend as well as the week after. Please be there.
*We need to advertise the ballet…This is the last ballet I will direct. I am retiring May 31.
*Costume/performance fees are due….$35 (made out to Hanneke Lohse).
*Check the blog for rehearsal times http://www.hannekesballet.wordpress.com
*I will try to make specific group email lists to follow up with the rehearsal times.
Thank you so much. I am looking forward to this ballet with mixed feelings. I certainly love teaching, love working with these wonderful dancers. I had some health issues with high blood pressure, because there is a lot of stress that I carry trying to juggle everyone’s schedules and trying to keep the level of performance that I put on myself, at a high level. I am doing better now and will have to see how involved I will be in teaching.
Again, thank you so much for the support. It is hard to give up something that I love sooo much.
